WHEW! Where does time go?!
Summer has completely flown by, and I cannot even believe that my last blog post was in July! Better late than never, they say?
Yasmina and François’ wedding was right at the beginning of my season, and I was so excited to start the year with such a lovely couple. We had the chance to connect a few months before when we did their engagement session at Iles Boucherville, where François’ kindness towards Yasmina completely melted my heart. She had been a little nervous about posing in front of the camera, so her husband-to-be kept telling her how beautiful she was. This allowed Yas to relax and truly be in the moment with Frank.
Fast-forward to the wedding day. The love shared between these two was incredible. Throughout my eight years as a wedding photographer, I have rarely seen such an emotional groom during the ceremony. François could barely hold back tears as he saw his beautiful fiancée walk down the aisle. Yasmina was absolutely stunning: her dress was perfectly fitted, elegant, and so very romantic. The way they looked at each other as they sat in one of Montreal’s most grandiose churches – Basilique Notre-Dame (chapel) – was full of love and admiration for one another. As a photographer, I could not ask for a better scenario…they smiled and giggled together even during the mundane part, where the priest recited Quebec’s marriage laws!
I was not the only person who was touched by the love shared between Yasmina and François…everywhere I turned, a friend or family member was tearing up! And this is why I love documenting weddings. How often in our lifetime do we have the opportunity to have all those we love under the same roof, witnessing the love we have for our significant other? It is even better when this roof is the Science Centre, right in the heart of Old Montreal! Everyone laughed, cried, and danced the night away, all this while having one of the best views in the city.
Yas, Frank, thank you so much for having me capture your big day. ALWAYS look at each other the way you did on that beautiful day.
