SUNEET + ANDY’s family session in Quebec City, QC

Before becoming a professional photographer, I worked at a hospital as an electrophysiology technologist. Although I loved being with patients, I was searching for something that would be challenging and changing every single day.

Wedding and family photography fit the bill perfectly, and Suneet + Andy’s family session was the perfect example! Suneet, Andy and baby S were visiting Quebec City from Vancouver, so our dates were not quite flexible. Both Suneet and I looked at the weather forecast days in advance, hoping the little rain icon would go away. As I drove to Quebec City, I kept driving through small towns where the rain had stopped, only to get poured onto minutes later. The weather was not going to be easy, but I knew it would still be an amazing photo session.

One of the reasons why I had that feeling was because Suneet was very positive about it all. She didn’t let the weather dampen (ha, see what I did there?) her expectations about the shoot, and she was confident we were going to make it work. When I pulled up to the beautiful Château Frontenac, the clouds had just parted and we immediately started taking pictures outdoors. We quickly hit it off, and we took in every second so we could capture great moments without any rain. Little munchkin S sure had a LOT of energy, so we were constantly on our feet trying to keep up with her, and making sure we got priceless moments in the process. At one point, it started raining again and we simply returned to the Château for a few final clicks.

Although we could have worried about the weather, worried about S being too active to keep in place – we didn’t. We simply maximized every single second, which allowed us to gain a wide variety of photos while enjoying ourselves. It’s these kinds of challenges that constantly renew the love for my work. Thank you so much Suneet, Andy, and S for such a wonderful time. It was truly a pleasure meeting you and I hope to see you back in Quebec in the near future!
