LIU + ANDY’s wedding at Salon Richmond in MONTREAL, QC

It brings me such joy to photograph weddings as I have the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures and to meet wonderful people throughout the process, just like with Liu and Andy’s wedding.

Their big day started with tons of fun games, where the groom and his groomsmen had to complete several various tasks in order to see the beautiful bride. This included ingesting wasabi-topped cucumbers and doing licorice pushups! The guys triumphed, surviving through every single game thrown at them, which allowed Andy to finally join Liu and admire how stunning she was in her unique traditional dress. Then, everyone gathered in the living room for the tea ceremony, where the couple shared tea with their family in exchange for wise words and meaningful gifts.

What I love about these busy days is how filled they are, keeping me on my feet from the moment I arrive, to the moment I pack my bag and go home. After changing into their formal attire, we photographed the bridal party and couple portraits in a quaint little park in Terrebonne, and then drove all the way back to their civil ceremony and reception venue – Salon Richmond.

This venue – previously a church – was converted into a vast space for events, and I must say that it is one of my favourite venues in Montreal! The high ceilings, the mezzanine, the breathtaking stone front, everything is perfect to awe friends and family on such an important day.

Liu, Andy, thank you for such a fun filled day. It was such a pleasure spending time with you and your guests. Our day flew by so quickly!
